Hi All,

I'm glad to see there is such a thing as a T-40 Enthusiast's Forum, because I'm looking to put mine back into playing condition, and could use some help.

(I thought i'd fix it up and sell it, but now that I've read some things about the tonal versatility, I remember why I bought it in the first place, waaay back in '79, I think it was. So I'm a bit torn. I'll be tempted to hang onto this instrument, even though I'm not much of a bassist and money is a bit scarce here lately.)

It's only problem that I know of is the non-functoning treble pickup. It failed pretty early-on, so the bass has been stashed in its case for decades. I'm looking to buy a replacement pickup. Or, if anyone can walk me through the steps to rewire the one I have, I think I might be able to manage that (used to work days as a manufacturing technician in Silicon Valley). The biggest barrier seems to be all that danged epoxy.

Anyway, thanks for being here, and thanks for any clues you can offer on finding or rewiring T-40 pickups!

Best,
Rod

I can email you the correct wiring diagram if you wish. Just PM your email address and I'll get it on the way to you.

Bridge pickup failure was real common back in the day with the bridge pickups. Something about the way they were put in the chrome case. I have one I was gonna use for a project that I'm interested in selling. Would you want to buy it? go ahead and send me a PM if you're interested.
