Tony, Hi. Not been here for a while but hoping you can help.

I'm guessing that you have been asked this before, both for the
guitar and bass - Why is the Peavey script on the neck plate upside down? Rolling Eyes

I can't think why but I hope you are about to tell me. Very Happy

All the best.

I actually asked Chip that same question a few years ago while at his shop.

He said it was so the audience could read the name if you flipped the body up while playing.

Have someone put your T on and flip the body up. Yep. Can read the neck plate plain as day.

Personally I think he was pulling my leg, but it does make sense.

Very Funny!! I guess he doesn't know, either. Wink

In that case, perhaps we will never know!!

Cheers Tony, all the best. Very Happy

I still don't know if that was the honest reason why or if Chip created the story to amuse people.

We assumed that the player knew what instrument he was playing. Does one wear necklaces where they can turn them up to read them (like the American Indians did), or so that someone else views them right-side-up?

Wow! This has made my day.

Chip Todd, in on one of my posts. Today is a good day.

Chip, Hi - VERY pleased to find you on here - I for one,
will be making more regualr vists.
I am a massive fan of your work and I have a lot of T-40's and T-60's,
including one of the pre 8M serial numbers. Mine has 77 on the pots.
I read with interest the post about the pick-up winding.
All of my Toasters are more mellow, some have a gentle
attack and some are more powerful.
The Blades I have are more powerful, in varying degrees
and I have a later, Natural, with the BAT switches that
is bordering on "Lethal". If I plug this one in, without
backing off the amp. . . . OUCH! Very powerful.

The T-60 pick-ups are a surprise to most.
I ahve shared some of mine to Die Hard Gibson and Fender
fans and they all hate to admit it, but they love the T-60.

I shall continue to spread the word and look forward to
your input on here.

Chip, all the very best to you.

Flat Eric. Smile
