| I bought this on Ebay a few weeks ago. Its a little rough, but I expect to get it back to beautiful. It came without strings, so I haven't even played it yet. I disassembled it, and I'm in the process of making repairs, and cleaning. I thought I would share my progress... I emailed Peavey with the ser.# and it turns out to be an '82 ( I was just entering Jr. High ) Here she is in pieces... The headstock has a crack in it. It's about 4" long, and it runs behind the E string tuner. It has been repaired, and it looks like a decent job. It seems stable, but I have not had strings on it yet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Now here's something interesting.... On the underside of the pickguard, barely visible is a signature. I dont know if it's a factory worker, or what?.... You can only see it in a certain light. I got a decent picture of it... [img] I will post more pics as I progress. Hopefully this wont take too long! I have now been bitten by the T-40 bug! I am looking for a nice natural finish to compliment this one! | |

| Most excellent...looks great!!! I have my own polishing process that leaves a mirror-like finish. I love bringing a project back to life. Thanks for taking the time to take pics of progress. If you ever have any questions about the T-40, this is the place to ask!! We look forward to hearing your opinion when she's back together and ready to rock!! I'm sure you'll love her!! | |

| Hey Elbows, love the hockey references. I lived in Bethlehem for a few years. I love the Lehigh Valley and miss it. I grew up in Massachusetts so I'm a huge Bruins fan. Hockey isn't as popular as it used to be, lack of a TV contract has really hurt it. It's sad to me. I'll still do Fantasy Hockey though. I'm a Fantasy sports geek in addition to a bass geek. | |

I have 2 spots left.... PM me if you're interested. Were you in a band in the Lehigh Valley? I used to play alot in the area in the early to mid 90's.

| 1982... HE was in junior high... PT43 was a year from joining the military....
Scott - I worked security for the Blues when I was stationed at Scott. I wasn't much of a hockey fan before I started working there, I guess growing up in KY/TN I didn't get much exposure beyond that Paul Newman movie (which was freaking brilliant).

| WOW, What a SWEET looking bass! FUN? HAVING FUN? I"d rather have root canal than work on my bass! I envy you guys, I can intonate my strings, and that's about it. When I see a bass all torn apart like that, I sweat! | |

| Ugh... I went to assemble this beauty, and the place I ordered the pickguard from sent me the wrong one!!! It looks like its a T-60 pickguard. So, I called, and they are sending me the replacement. Damn... I was really excited to play this thing tonight! Oh well, good things are worth waiting for I guess. The body buffed out really nice. I cleaned up the fretboard with some lemon oil, and it looks great! I soldered on the new toggle switch, and I cleaned up the knobs, bridge, saddles, etc. I bought some Super Slinkys...I've never played them before. I'm really anxious to hear it!! I'll post some pics of the final product! Hopefully very soon!! | |

| I'm done! Here she is... [img] [/img] [img] I love the grain! I'm having a little trouble getting the action to where I like it, but overall, I'm very happy with the way it turned out! What do you think? | |
