Electronics questions Empty
PostSubject: Electronics questions   Electronics questions I_icon_minitimeSun Aug 09, 2009 10:00 am

I picked up a used T-40. Problems:

* Phase switch was defective. I bypassed and removed this without issue.
* Neck pickup will not work. Via process of elimination I narrowed it down to the TONE pot. I'm not sure if it's the pot itself or the connection between it and the volume pot. The .022 OHM resistor fell apart when trying to remove it which is likely the culprit.

Which leads me to my questions.

* Can I wire tone to the vol directly without the resistor?
* If not, what function does the resistor have?
* Locally the smallest I can get is a .47 OHM resistor, could I use that? And what effect would it have VS the .022 OHM resistor spec'd in the schematics?
* Lastly, I could just bypass tone pot completely and wire directly to volume only.
