My twins. Twins

The one on the left is a 1982 model with the original pickups and aluminum nut, and the left is a 1984 T-40 FL with the later pickups, plastic nut and round switches. The fretted has had the pickup rings, pickup switch, and the frets changed, and the fretless has had the tuners swapped for a NOS set. Both are tone machines.

Very Nice! You know, I really like both of these peavey finishes.

Have you ever seen a white one? Theres one on ebay. I think I'll copy the pic and post it up here. That would complete you collection!

I would love a white one with the earlier pickups. Of all the solid color finishes, I think that white has to be the best looking.

Honestly though, I can't really justify a third. For a while, I had another that was in between the other two age-wise: it had the exposed blade pickups, but it had the smaller switches and aluminum nut.

My twins. Trio

The real reason that I had it was so that I could try some electronics modifications. After doing said mods, I realized that the T-40 was perfect as-is and there's no real point in trying to change perfection. Very Happy

el dude,

Beautiful basses. Someday I'm going to find a mint T-40 with that dark sunburst finish and rosewood neck....awesome!!!

I see you at the Dude Pit sometimes.

Thanks.

I would love a sunburst/fretted rosewood to complement my collection, although I would want to find a set of the earlier pickups to drop in it.

It's been a long time since I've been on the dudepit, but I definitely recognize you from over there.
