Well, yeah, I paid less for my black/maple, too, but that's not the point. $300 is around the going rate for T-40's on eBay. I found this one a short distance from Kangfish with about a 5 minute search. He wants one and here's one for an average price that he can play before he buys. Or, as my reply stated, they're also sold cheaper fairly often if you keep your eyes open. Or are you offering to sell him your red/rosewood for less? | |

| Hi, Thanks for the replies. I play blues and blues rock almost exclusively nowadays and have for quite a few years. Thanks for the link to the T40 on ebay too. I'm watching it. It's up to $285 with about an hour and a half left. Seems that in the last few minutes of these auctions people go nuts and bid way more than I can pay. I'd love to bid high enough to win it sometimes but just don't have the jack. Thanks again. I'll keep on looking. -- Kangfish | |

| Kangfish, sorry for the late reply. You're not an old guy at all!!! The T-40 is a very versatile bass. What type of music would you be playing? They are on eBay quite frequently and can be bought for an absolute steal. Made in USA, solid quality construction. You won't be disappointed if you buy a T-40, believe me. Welcome to the forum!!! | |

| Hello everybody! I just discovered this place! It's great! I'm an old guy (55) and have mainly been a guitar player except for a short while as a teenager I played bass 'till my bass was stolen. An old Univox hollowboby. Anyway I've been wanting to play bass again after all these years and I like old stuff and like the looks of the T 40. Didn't know much about them until I started doing a little research lately. Seems like my kind of instrument. I've only had Peavey amps all my life but never a Peavey guitar. Anyway I'd like to buy a T 40 even if It needs a little work as long as it is basiclly solid. I've seen many in pawn shops over the years at really cheap prices but I don't recall seeing any in quite some time. Oh, well hindsight....... Thanks for any leads. -- Kangfish | |
