I've never had the chance to record but I've heard that the T-40 is an excellent "recording" bass. I suspect that many professionals use them in the studio but don't play them live simply because of the weight.
Of course this is just my opinion. Thoughts??

I haven't recorded with mine either, but I do remember Brian H. saying he doesn't record with his T-60L. Something about it is too muddy sounding. I dunno 'bout that, it sounds great live.

The T-40's tone is quite perfect so I've used it on many recordings. Hard to go wrong there! I recommend trying it!
