Hi, I'm Tom from Berlin / Germany. I've just logged in as a new member. I bought my T-40 last week for about 300 Euros. It is in an almost mint condition. ( natural finish). I must say, that thing is really a beast!!! I used to play a Fender P-Bass over an Ampeg amp and it sounds poor against the T-40. My question is about the serial-number: 00395982. This must be a 1979. Am I right? Thanks for some answers.

Welcome to the show Tom and congrats on grabbing a T-40!
That serial number looks like it should be a 1979. Does it have the "Patent Pending" text on the headstock?

yes, it says "Patents applied for" on the headstock. I don't know how to upload a picture-can you help me?[

I'm so jealous. I need a PAF headstock T-40.
I haven't figured out how to make pictures show up either. I have mine on another web page and link the picture in my thread.
