Looks like a nice natural T-40, do the control instrictions come off with the plastic cover on the scratchplate?

I really want a black or red on maple but having no guitar at the moment, I may have to settle...

What do you guys think?

Ben.

Damn, if I hadn't just bought two basses, I'd be all over that. Not only does it have the plastic still on the pickguard, it appears to have the original strings. The originals had the brown silk on the ends. I'd jump on that one.

Sorry, didn't answer your questions...got excited by that bass. All of the print is on the plastic covering. It will come off with it. However, since it's been on there since the mid 80s, it might be a bugger to take the plastic off without a mess. I like the look of it on. I'd leave it. That's just me though.

Great example of a "closet-classic" T-40.

My first Peavey, now in my possession again (!) had the plastic on the pick guard, and I peeled it off with no problems at all. That was 12 years ago, mind.
