| For the benifit of the discussion with everybody else, here's what I answered OzarkRifleman (basically MPed me the same question...)
Hi there!
To be honest, I'd be happy with the "normal" beige natural wood one (the head picture on the forum), although the sunburst design is really nice.
I'm also on a "budget", as a lot of people looking for T-40s are... I want a "nice" bass, but I can't affort to pay 1000$... As it is not my main instrument, and I play strictly as a hobby, for fun. But I like to have quality instruments. Not top of the line, but sturdy, well built, etc.
Right now I have a Samick (from 10-15 years ago) and it's not the greatest, as you can imagine.
The T-40 wouldn't need to be in pristine condition, although I kind of want it to have all its pieces (knobs, bridge pins, etc). I have a friend who repairs basses (and guitars) and he can easily fix her up if there are any adjustments needed.
What's also a bummer is that I'm in Canada, and not all ebayers will ship to Canada, so that cuts a lot of great deals off my list.
I'd pay 250-300$ + shipping costs. Depending on condition, of course.
So if you see one, be kind, tell me he he

| This one is interesting to make a custom model ... but the varnish problem at the back of the neck is annoying to me. | |
