| Thanks Viktor, I've been doing work on that site a little at a time, though traffic here seems to be picking up quite a bit That site will happen, I just don't feel the urgency now that this place is hopping. | |

| It's picking up a lot. I remember not so long ago I'd swing in and hit the old "new posts since your last visit" button and come up with nada. Are bassists just shy in general? Well, not counting Gene $immon$, of course. Pleased to see a few posts when I do that now. | |

| I dunno Tony. This place is starting to feel more like "home." I'm thankful that Mike started the bass section on the T-60 site but I knew it wouldn't work. I know that bass players are welcome there for a fact but, I don't know...I feel like I'm trespassing over there...even though I shouldn't feel that way. | |

| Gene Simmons is THE man. It's hard to believe he is such a smart businessman. Well, not so hard to believe. I'm floored to find out that Gene and Paul were/are staunch "non drinkers/partiers." And the fact that they kicked Peter and Ace out of the group because of their addictions is so much more fascinating. Gene seems like the nicest guy. Just don't f*%k with hime | |

I was afraid it wouldn't work out quite like we had hoped. No need to feel like you are trespassing but I know how you feel. As a guitarist I sometimes feel out of place amongst all you real bassists here. But we are like minded folks and we are family.

I am probably one of the biggest Kiss fans in the world. Been a fan since the first album came out yet I find myself not liking Gene the business man. I have a hard time choking down some of the things he does with the band name. But I 've gotta give the man credit for building an empire. He can put everything his heart desires but Kiss fans just want an album with new music. Last time we got that was Psycho Circus in 1998. But we did get one new song on the Detroit Rock City soundtrack. The solo releases from Gene and Paul don't count.

| GREAT points Tony. I've heard that Paul isn't in the best of health. People can make fun of KISS all they want, they really did change R&R. Great, simple music. I remember being mesmerized by the "Alive II" gatefold album opened up when I was a kid. What a great live band they must have been to see back then. Just opened up my ITunes and have KISS blaring....much to the chagrin of my wife | |

| Rumor has it that Paul won't be with the band much longer. I've almost always got Kiss playing in the background. My wife has to accept it, it's just part of me. | |

| I am not a member of the KISS army, or even a fan, though I like some of their work. But it has to be said that they pooled great talent, interests and influences and put together one of the most influential groups in history. There are so many people who are directly influenced by KISS, and a lot more that are using styles developed by KISS and are not even aware of it. Just think; there are kids now listening to Godsmack and the like who will claim them as an influence when they start playing gigs, completely unaware of who inspired those groups. KISS set the stage for the entire hair-metal revolution. If there were no KISS, I seriously doubt it would have happened. Music would have evolved away from disco eventually, but not with the fire, speed and choreography that it did. The beauty of their work is summed up this way to me: while on a road trip of sorts, Rock and Roll All Nite started playing, and my daughter said she really liked the song, it sounded a little like Poison or RATT, so I said this song was released 10 years before any major hits be either of those bands. In fact, they probably wouldn't have existed at all if KISS hadn't been formed. She has now added KISS to her personal playlist. A lot of bands, even a lot of those inspired by KISS, sound dated now, but much of KISS's work is timeless. Back on subject , The Basement sounds AWESOME! | |

| Well said, Jeremy. Even non-fans of KISS have to acknowledge their contributions to R&R. | |
