This one seems a bit overpriced, http://cgi.ebay.com/Peavey-T-40-Bass-pristine-w-OHSC-made-in-usa-RARE_W0QQitemZ330208678395QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item330208678395
Also, I saw the same exact one get sold the other day for $299. At least the pictures were the same. It was from a different seller though.

I saw that one. If it is in the condition stated, I'd say the price is fair. I'm always a little sketchy about 98% and under feedback rating.

I would still say it's a bit steep. It may be pristine, but it's not an early model or anything. I think folks may be getting carried away after seeing the bass that got bid up to $511.

I'm sure there is someone out there who might pony up the asking price however, and there are other t-40's that have sold in that range lately.

With respect eilif, a new Fender Mexican Jazz or Precision bass sells for around $480 without HSC.

A T-40 blows that out of the water in terms of tone and quality, including a HSC. I pristine T-40, blade or toaster pickups for $500 is a worth the $$

Hey Scott,
You are of course right. I did a search for t-40 competeds on Ebay, and they really are going for quite a bit more lately. I mentioned on another thread that it was only 3 years ago that I paid 250 for my nearly NOS 79 and that seemed steep at the time. Now it seems like a super bargain.

I'm glad the T-40 is getting more of the respect it deserves, but alot of the charm was the fact that they were so cheap and underappreciated.
