That fretless looks gorgeous with the blank maple board. Is that a custom neck, or is it just planed down really far?

It's a prototype pre production fretless that belonged to R. T. Lowe who worked with Chip Todd at Peavey.I purchased it from Chip Todd. The serial # is an incredibly low 000021. The burgundy is pre production too, slightly different than the later burgundy. They used this bass as a test platform for the new blade pickup and these may be the very first T-40 blades.

that fretless has me going. i'm thinking of how it must sound with the maple 'board & the Peavey electronics...anyways, gorgeous group. funny, besides myself, i hardly ever saw anyone that had a T-40, now i see some of you guys with 3, 6, & single p-up T-45's, that's really cool. over the years, i've gotten rid of a lot of nice gear, but never an intact guitar, i'm glad i hung onto the T-40
