adding a t-45 tone circuit to a t-40 Empty
PostSubject: adding a t-45 tone circuit to a t-40   adding a t-45 tone circuit to a t-40 I_icon_minitimeWed May 29, 2013 8:11 am

I have a T-45 wiring harness from a pickup/wiring change to a single coil pickup I did a few years back.
Recently the phase switch on my T40 went bad and I removed it from the circuit -I never used the reverse phase tone so I don't miss it .
Now I have an unused hole in my pickguard where the switch used to be and I was thinking of adding the 'bass rolloff' portion of the t-45 tone circuit in that spot... basically a pot with a coil to ground I think.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be welcome.. as well as a t-45 schematic

Chris, Hi.

I have often thought of doing the same but never got around to it.

I may have the diagram you are looking for - I'll have a look.

Would be interested to know how you get on.

Cheers. Smile

Thanks.. but I think I found a diagram for the T-45... I'd post it if I could figure out how to attach a file- but it sort of looks like the red coil tap lead is being sent to a second tone pot with a H6 inductor coil to ground that rolls off low freq's.
I got a tele in peices on my workbench, but when I'm done with that I'll start playing with the t-40.
my first thought is to wire both red leads to a common rolloff pot as I have only one inductor coil.... my second thought is to find another inductor coil and wire both pickups like seperate T-45 volume/tone/tone circuits, than wire them back to a standard 3way pickup selector.... more interesting to me the second way if I can find the right parts.
