Considering becoming T-40 newb Empty
PostSubject: Considering becoming T-40 newb   Considering becoming T-40 newb I_icon_minitimeMon Oct 15, 2012 12:59 am

I'm thinking about purchasing an '82 T-40, natural finish, black pickguard. I haven't played one yet and obviously plan on doing so before buying one, but does anyone here slap, pop play funk music much? I don't exclusively slap and pop, but it's definitely something I do regularly and the Neck pickup on the T40 looks like it could inhibit that technique to some extent.

What other styles does anyone play with their t-40? I understand they get a wide assortment of tones.
thanks,
B

Slapping is not my predominant style, but from time to time, i like to integrate it into my playing. I feel that the neck pickup, even when dropped to the deck, tends to inhibit slapping if you have the one with blade pickups. From what i've heard, it isn't a problem with the toaster pickups, but with the blades, the string tends to hit the pickup, and cause the amp to peak, making a loud, unpleasant popping noise.
