Hello. I am new to the forum and need some expert advice, please.

I disassembled my T-40 about 6 years ago. It hadn't been played since '99 because none of the knobs worked anymore. I put all the hardware in a box. Recently, I had a guy redo the pots and wiring. He did all this and handed everything back to me in a bag. I am going to put it all back into the guitar myself and I have no experience with this sort of thing. I finally refinished the beat-up body (this and the electrics were the main reasons I took it apart in the first place) and am now ready to reassemble.
Here's my main question:
There are 8 springs that I can't figure out. In total, there are 12 springs. I remembered what the 4 longer ones were for, but I can't figure out where to place the 8 shorter ones. What were they for and where should I place them as I re-assemble?
Thank you!
Chris

After more contemplation, I realized they went over the screws that suspend the pickups from the pickguard.
