hi everyone!! im new to the t40 and to bass playing in general. this bass is my first and i cant wait to learn on it. i took it to the shop yesterday to get it set up and inspected for any electrical issues. the shop owner was beyond delighted that i showed up with it. he seemed pretty knowledgeable about the bass and all of the tones it can achieve, so i think it is in good hands. he said the t40 was the first guitar to ever be cut via computer instead of solely by hand. is this true?

based upon the serial number post, it dates to 1980. it has toaster pickups. it is in pretty good condition except the pickup rings are cracked, it was missing 3 knobs (bought replacements. thank you ebay!!), and some knuckle head removed the 3 way ON pickup switch and replaced it with a 2 way. i know absolutely nothing about basses but even i know that doesnt make much sense!! also the phase switch is wonky. the shop owner is going to try and tackle all of that

i cant wait to get it back!!
