| My bass (a 79) is a slab with no contour to the body at all. I've seen so many t40's with a tummy cut that they must have been factory standard at some point.
does anybody know when they started making them standard?

| The early models (78-80) were all slab bodies with no cut at all. Around late 80 or early 81 you'll see the tummy cut starting to show up. | |

| Thanks. Not a critical question, just something I had noticed

| I didn't notice it myself when I got my first T. It was a 1982 with the contour and cut, then I got a pair of 1980s and they were slab bodied. That's what got me looking at all the little difference between each production year. It turned into a small obsession. | |

| The positioning is a bit different. You've still got a unique one. | |
