I know this post is pretty dead , but in case anyone else runs into this trus rod maxed out issue I have found a solution that works some of the time.

BTW this guy has some great other video's and is amusing to boot !

Try releasing the string tension and loosening the truss rod a bit. You can also give the micro tilt feature a try.

Just picked up a new (to me) T-40 (honey burst color) in exchange for a Squier Vintage Modified Jazz bass that I wasn't using (and $30 to the seller - they may have gotten the better end of the deal - I don't know yet).

The T-40 is in great shape, the case is like brand new, but the neck is bowed a bit... When holding the string down at first and 17th fret, there's a bit of a gap between the string and the frets. Seller said that the truss-rod was maxed out. I haven't tried adjusting anything yet. Not sure if it can be fixed or not...

The bass is playable, so I'm not in a huge hurry (and can maybe live with it like this).

I thought I'd see if there are any necks out there. If you have one, let me know how much you want for it. I have a feeling I may be waiting for a while, and that's OK.

Best way to contact me is via my e-mail: blizakowski@gmail.com
