Hello from London, I am new to this forum, nice to see so many bass players who recognise a classic when they see one. You can keep your Fenders etc. My Black Ash/maple '79 T-40 is the best bass I ever used, bar none. It has toured the world, and cut tracks in some of Europe's finest recording studios. I always got good comments from studio engineers about the versatility and range of tone you can get with this instrument, and when mine is back next week (from setup & tech service) I will play no other. Heavy? ... yes .... indestructable? .... absolutely! AND a sustain to die for.

I play bass for post-punk band Scars (recently reformed after many years) and am looking forward to using my T-40 in a couple of weeks for a live BBC radio session. Can't wait. I used a musicman for a comeback gig at HMV Edinburgh Picture House on Dec. 29th - it was okay, but it just didn't have the balls.

John,

Welcome to the forum. I watched your videos, great stuff. Your T-40 definitely rocks!!! Yes, these gems are finally getting their due respect. This forum isn't active too much. There have been spammers posting everywhere here and since the owner of this forum doesn't ever visit, nobody has admin rights to ban people. I invite you to check out a forum I started to replace this one.

Chip Todd, the creator of the T-40 is a registered member on my forum and I've spoken to him many times. He's a wealth of knowledge and I'm honored to call him my friend.

Congratulations on reforming your band!!! You guys rock!!!
