Here are some pics of my '78 T-40. Was my grandpa's till he passed away, and I bought it from my Grandma who needed the money.

I think he must have redid the body since all the T-40's I see aren't this color. I really need to get this thing worked on, I had a guy redo all the wiring, but he switched the V/T around so its not Vertical but horizontal, and I think its backwards and now the pickup selector switch only selects both or bridge only, wont allow neck only. Also havent been able to adjust the neck yet, and really needs some new strings.

Anyway, here some shots, if you want better pics let me know.

(Edit: Always thought it was a 79 from my memory, but looked up the serial again, '78!)

I used to own a natural 1982 T-60 that was darker than normal. Never did figure out if it had been stained or just turned darker after years of exposure to smoke filled bars by a previous owner.

I think its safe to say mine was stained after the fact. Kinda messy for a factory job. I notice its wearing thin on some parts where I rest my arm, and near the bridge.

Also, upon looking at the electronics, I dont see any significant markings.

It makes it a unique T-40 that doesn't look like a lot of the others. Plus your Granddad most likely did the work himself. That gives it mojo.
