| Hey everyone.
Ive got an early 80's t40 with bladed pickups. They sound good, but not great. Im playing through a 1971 Ampeg V4 with the two matching 4x12 cabs.
The t40 sounds alright, but the Geddy Lee Jazz Bass sounds great! I'd like to find a way to get the t40 up to par.
Any suggestions? | |

| There is a company that makes pickups for the T40....um....they're called Darkstars I think? I'll look into it for you!

Any suggestions? Wow, really? Have you checked to see if the wiring has been messed with ? I have both the old toaster type & the blade type. I have an Ampeg rig as well and these pickups are just FREAKING KILLER!

| I agree, the option is there but...why change when the pickups sound so good? | |

| its not that they sound bad...they're just kinda muddy. I tune down to D standard, so Im sure that has a lot to do with it, but even aside from that, its kinda muddy.
What about Ernie Ball picups?

| The only other pickups I have experience with is Darkstars and I HIGHLY recommend them. They are expensive but well worth the scratch. If you decide to sell the T pickups, I'm interested in buying. I've got some projects that I'm working on. | |
