T-15 (recent Ebay purchase): 01088152 (sticker on the back of the headstock is from a music store in McAlester, Ok but I can't make out the name of the store).
T-30 (another recent Ebay purchase): 0112416.
T-40 (I'm the original owner from 1980!): 00395954.
The T-30 serial number only has 7 numbers. Should be 8.

| Frank (or anyone else):
What's the preferred method for stringing a T-15 or T-30 bridge? Through the bottom or through the back? I've seen both and have done both.

Thanks Chris. I'll update my spreadsheet. And congrats on the rebuild. I was wondering about the pin stripe on your headstock. Does it surround the truss rod cover or run behind it?

I've only seen one type bridge on the T-15/T-30. You can only load the string in the channel behind the saddle piece there isn't a through the body option on those guitars. The T-60/T-40 are loaded that way.

| Sorry. I wasn't clear. On all of the T-13/T-30 bridges I have there's the channel you describe on the base plate of the bridge and on the back wall (as it were) there are six holes that you can also string through. I've seen it strung through both ways. I didn't mean string through the body like a telecaster.
Bad choice of words on my part.

| Okay, I see what you mean now.
All that I have played were strung through the base. I don't recall having seen on with the strings passed through the rear of the bridge.

| Thanks Shabbs, got your added to the database. Looks like a 1979 to me as well.
The closest I've got in the database to yours is 00396265. I did find a 00396326. Same numbers in different sequence.

| Just picked up a very tired T-40 today. It has just been cleaned, inspected, and new strings put on. What's needed(we do our own work): 1) Case needs relined 2) 2 of 4 springs missing on the bridge saddles, 1 screw is not OEM(head is too large) 3) Crack on the pickguard near the bridge 4) Previous owner(s) removed the phase switch and replaced it with a 1/4" jack. 5) The other switch now has a poorly-fit slide switch for pickup selection(Frt, Rr, both) 6) Where the A string crosses the 3rd fret, there is 1/4" deep burn hole(looks like a soldering iron wound) 7) No truss rod cover
If it plays good(seems to already) and sounds good, it's a keeper. For now it's going to sit overnight and let the neck adjust(if it even moves at all) to the new strings(a bit lighter gauge, my preference for all basses here).
Serial number is 00378117.
This is my 1st T-40 but I remember seeing and hearing Louisiana's Leroux(Leon Medica) using one on albums and live at Ol' Man Rivers in New Orleans a zillion years ago. Never had $$$ + access to one until now.

| I just added yours to the database.
I have seen plenty of phase switches replaced with three-ways but this is the first time I've seen one replaced with a 1/4" jack. Did the previous owner replace the existing output jack or make it stereo?
Can't say I've seen a soldering scar on a fingerboard either.

| Here's another one for you, in the Netherlands, previous owner thought it was a '79.
Different switches then i've seen on T-40 pictures, probably replaced.

| Just picked up a T-40, here's the serial: 01221806
All stock except for the phase switch, which has been replaced with a 3-way toggle. Not sure why or what the difference is, I think I'll have to open it up to find out.

| We have just inherited this T40 in mint condition. We don't think that it has ever been played. It still has the plastic on the scratch plate, it is in a rectangle hard case with a coppery velvet lining. 8M273020.
I am trying to put up a photo but I can't get them to upload?

| Congrats! You've got a very early T-40 from 1978. And you still got the pickguard cling, don't see a whole lot of those left these days.

| Hi all ! You can add my serial to your database. 00681389. Appears to be a 81 ? Natural finish, Maple fingerboard, Toasters, 5 pieces body, patent pending on headstock. Dont know her history, bought her at a guy who bought her 2 years ago at a guy who bought her at guy, maybe that during more than 30 years...I'm from France, paid 500 euros for it with original case. Hard to find in France/Europe at a fair price and in good health, from good years. Seen one offer recently at 650 euros for a 1982 with blades, no case. Mine seems to have been quite played, some scratches, dings, but good fretwear, electronics ok, no broken or missing parts. There's marks of a removed "BLITZ" sticker from a previous owner on body, does it tells something to anyone here ? These basses are awesome, played on lot of stuff like warwick, high-end Yamaha, Musicman, g&l, and definitely this girl has lot of mojo ! I kept a g&l asat only with her. Playin her in a Marshall DBS7400 with 4x12+1x15, Mad Professor BlueBerry, DGCF, C dropin sometimes, D'Addario Prosteels, LOVE ! If only I could have met her earlier in my bassist life. I'll never sell her, really thinking of starting a collection, I would be happy to offer her some sisters of others colors and ages. At least for now, I've this one, from my birth year !
