I just pulled out the stock pickup on the Maroon one to do another Dark Star conversion.

Both are 1982's and great basses. I love the necks on both. Unlike a lot of people I like how heavy the bass is.

I really dig the maroon finish. affraid

I've always wanted to try a DS'ed T-45. From what samples I've heard, I think that it would really beat the pants off of my poor P bass.

Thanks dude,

I've got the T-40 bug now. I think when I get one I'll keep the stock pickups though. We'll see what comes up!!!

Good plan. I've heard the sound of the T-40 is quite different in comparison to the T-45, so I'd love to hear your opinion on the matter. And if you do eventually decide to throw a set of Dark Stars in it, I think I know someone who would willingly take the stock pickups off of your hands. Wink Very Happy

I do have the pickup that I took out of my maroon 45 that I'm not sure what to do with. It looks brand new and the output was great in that bass. It's the blade type, not toaster. I just want two 45's with DS's. One with each rounds and flats.
