Hello there,

I just got myself a T-40 Bass. And wow! ...if Iīd known earlier...

I am happy like a pig-in-gravy with her.

But what I didnīt take care off -I wish I had!- is a Hardshell case for it. The Dude who sold me the bass didnīt have one....

The problem now is, I get quite a bit around with gigs over here and I wish I had a decent case for my T-40, so I could take it along to some venues. But to be honest without a case I-m not handing the bass in for trucking.......

Does anyone ...

Need funds to purchase a Rickenbacker 4001 so I'm selling these two off....I think. I may change my mind on the T-45, it's such a great bass.

Anyway, the 1982 T-45 is in incredible condition, no buckle rash, some light scratches here and there and a pencil eraser sized ding on the front, the pickup is really hot....truss rod is fine, neck is straight, new DR "Red Devil" coated strings.
I am trying to sell my 1980 fretless T-40. I had it professionally defretted five years ago. Serial #0065408. I seldom play fretless anymore & its been sitting in a gig bag for about a year unplayed. When I first bought it five years ago it was my main bass, but that has switched to my '06 MM Stringray. It sounds absolutely beautiful. All original , all switches and knobs work perfect. The body and neck show little wear. 1 natural with maple neck.

I've got pics but no where to post them. They are both lacking some level of original bits (neither has a stock pickguard), need to be taken apart and cleaned and possibly rewired.

I just can't justify having these and since i at least have my 6 string fretless if i wanna play, I have to see if someone wants them. Oh yeah, i'm not working and moved across the state to live with mom, so selling them is also prudent.

Just got the word that my T-40 is coming back home. I'm soooooo excited. I could not let this bass go to someone else that I didn't know. Sounds crazy, but the way I found her in a pawn shop...just sitting there for months, it was almost like going to the pound and looking at the same dog who looked at you with "puppy-dog eyes"....you knew you HAD to have her. Rest assured, this bass will stay with me, and get passed down to my son. I'm stoked!!

The guy I sold my 6 digit serial number, headstock outline around the truss rod cover, one of the very first in production T-40s has it up for sale. This is a truely rare T-40. He is a member here but hasn't posted in a while. Here's a link to his sale on TalkBass.

I can personally vouch for his honesty and integrity. This is a great, rare bass at a very good price. Have at it:

Hi Everyone,

Great forum you've got here. I recently discovered the T-40 while doing research to try to find the best bass for me (I'm primarily a guitarist).

I'm intent on purchasing a T-40, and have been scouring eBay and Craigslist and hope to find one sooner rather than later. But on the off-chance that a member here is thinking about parting with their T-40, and it's in good condition, I'd like to make an offer.

Thanks!

New to the Forum! I also own a Peavey T-60.

I'm also a bass player and that's what's getting me gigs right now. I'm looking for a late 70s to early to mid-80s T-45. My preference is for a bass with a rosewood fretboard. However, a maple neck wouldn't be a dealbreaker on the right instrument. I do like the Peavey-style sunburst!

I'm also open to considering a T-20, Fury or Foundation from the era mentioned above. Because of wear I like to rest my thumb on the bass, I'm not a fan of the ...
